. . . a message from your Library Board
WHAT IS THE SMARTEST CARD IN YOUR WALLET? YOUR LIBRARY CARD! GET IT. USE IT.

The Library Trustees are presenting a proposed 2007-2008 budget for the Community’s approval that maintains traditional services while introducing new ones. Proposed budget increases are primarily for utilities (heat, light, gasoline), insurance, building contracts, postage, materials for borrowing & research and for staff to assist you.

New in 2006:

Do you have a question or a request? Call us, come in person, or e-mail us from our web site!

Programs - Book groups, youth programs, bus trips, computer classes, driver education, music, live theater and more.

Research databases available from the Library web site and in the Library. Find them at http://hhhl.suffolk.lib.ny.us.

Special Services for patrons with impaired hearing or vision or patrons homebound and unable to come to the Library.

Many other services are available from our web page: http://hhhl.suffolk.lib.ny.us

The proposed budget reflects a tax levy increase of 3.49%.

For a home in Huntington and Babylon assessed for tax purposes at $6,000, library taxes will rise about $1.08/month ($13/per year) in Huntington; $.83/month ($10/per year) in Babylon. The library tax is a small part of your overall tax bill.

We are committed to maintaining Half Hollow Hills as a library of excellence at a reasonable cost. Take advantage of all that your public library has to offer; and please take the time to vote on April 17. If you have any questions, call our director Michele Lauer-Bader at 421-4530, extension 350 or email her at mlauerba@suffolk.lib.ny.us.
